We didn't get to some of the exercises in the book, so you can use them for practice:
LISTENING: For exercise A6 on page 73, you can use the CD (Sandrock will leave an extra copy in the classroom on Thursday, January 8). If you don't have the CD, you can still practice matching the beginning of the sentence with the end of the sentence. HINT: the sentences should make grammatical and logical sense!
READING: Read the text Food Miles on page 74. Then do Exercises B1, B2, B3 on page 75. For Exercise 2, if the answer is True or False, indicate the sentence where you got the answer by writing the first four words...
Example: 1 Extra food miles are a problem because they harm the environment. TRUE. This travel adds substantially...
LISTENING: For exercise B5 listen to the CD Sandrock leaves in the classroom on January 8) and answer the questions about food miles. Match the country to the product, then indicate where the product came from.
READING: How a refrigerator works. Read the text on page 27, then answer the questions in exercises C1 and C2.
