 - set your news.google.com to English (read the headlines twice a day, and read an article or two that interest you!)
- bookmark (or "Like" on social media) NPR.org.  Listen to the podcast "Up First" (ca. 13 minutes a day with the top three stories) or the national news broadcast (4 minutes) twice a day.  BONUS:  Listen to the podcast "Short Wave" - about 10-13 minutes about science!

1) Don't forget to follow current events!

2) Look at at least FIVE Super Bowl Commercials at this website:  https://superbowl-ads.com/ Be able to describe one commercial IN DETAIL so that a person who hasn't seen it could imagine what it looks like.  Then explain what makes it a successful commercial (see list from class)

3) Finish the reading "Extreme Ironing" . We'll go over the answers.  Make sure you have FOUR words or fewer in your answers.

4) Bring any questions you have about English, English expectations, English grammar,

* give an overview of the Super Bowl and why it is ideal for advertisers
* give examples of the products that are advertised and the features that make their ads effective
* analyse one ad using the AIDA formula
