1HAS - Homework for Tuesday, May 5

Write a summary of one (or more) of the texts which were handed out in class on Tuesday.
1)  Summary of "Jamie Oliver" (p. 66-67) in your textbook Just Go For It
2)  Summary of "The World's Best Lasagne Recipe" (handout)
3)  Summary of "Mobile Learning" (handout)

A summary (Kurzfassung) contains the most important information in the text. What is the main message of the text?  Try to answer Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?

Make sure you write your summary in your OWN WORDS.  Don't just copy sentences from the text.

2C - Homework for Thursday, April 30

1)  Read email from Becky on p. 21. Then write a reply to her (Ex. 3, p. 22)  If you need help, see p. 110.  Write out your text to hand in.  5 points (but possibility of gaining 15 more!)

2) Read the text on pages 24-25.  Do exercise 4 on page 25 (Matura task!  - Put the headings in the right place in the article.  Then do Exercise 5, p. 26 (write out full sentences to the reading comprehension questions) and Ex. 6 p. 26 (vocabulary - copy the sentences with the correct word)
Total points 13 to 17.

3)  Help out an American high school student http://ennsvalleyenglish.blogspot.co.at/2015/04/help-out-american-high-school-student.html. Answer one or more of Philip's questions in the comment section below.  Put the number of the question(s) you are answering as well as your class and initials so I know who gets the points!

8C - Homework Options for Monday, April 27

Starting the Chapter on Globalization.  Here are the exercises you can learn from (reading comprehension, putting things in your own words, vocabulary, etc) and get points for!

1) Exercise 1 on page 70 (full sentences, written out on a separate piece of paper) - 5 pts

And/Or

2) Read the article on page 71 and do Exercise 2 on page 70 (full sentences, written out on a separate piece of paper) - 6 pts

And/Or

3) Read pp. 72-73. Do exercise 3 on page 74 (full sentences, written out on a separate piece of paper) - 8 pts

And/Or

4) Read pp.75-76 and do exercise 8 on page 76 - 4 pts

1HAS - Homework for Friday, April 24

1) Keep a food journal.  Keep track what you eat and drink over the next week. What did you eat?   Where did you eat? Who prepared the food?  Was the food healthy or unhealthy?  Did you like the food?  Here are some phrases to get you started:

4AHK - Homework Options for Tuesday, April 28

1) You MUST write a draft of the report on page 73.  Use some of the phrases from the handout and include a SUBJECT, INTRODUCTION, ANALYSIS OF RESULTS (p. 73) and CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION.  This is a Matura Textsorte, and we will do a second draft in May.

2) Write a comment on the blog to Philip in answer to his questions about Austria.  You can answer one or more of his questions. Make sure you put the number of the question you are answering and include your class and initials so I know who gets points (4AHK, JS).

3) You can get a head start on Chapter 7 by reading the text on page 70 (Researcher, Beware) and writing a summary.

4)  You may also want to read the text on page 72 (Some types of websites). This is of highest importance for next year's projects (Diplomarbeit).
