2ZBMI - Homework for Tuesday, March 17
We are going to start the "What's Cooking" unit.
First of all, work through the vocabulary on pages 57-58
Then read about National cuisines (page 58) and do the Individual Work exercise on page 59.
After that, look up a recipe in English for one of the dishes on page 59. Maybe you can find a video that shows you how to make it! (put the link in the comments). Be able to tell the class how to make this dish (what ingredients you need, what equipment you need, how much time it takes to make).
LOOKING AHEAD (in case you are stuck at home because of Covid-19)
Do Individual Work on page 60. Include the words beer, pork, chicken, veal.
On page 61, learn the cooking verbs (boil, grill, fry, deep-fry, bake, chop, slice, season)
On page 61, write a recipe for your favorite Austrian dish in English.
Read about Vegetarianism (page 62-63)
Read about Junk Food (page 63-64).
If you can find "Supersize Me" online, watch it!

You are working abroad for an NGO in the inner city of Harlem, New York City. You are giving a talk to young adults and their guardians about living a healthy lifestyle. These kids are often poor, live with their grandparents or a foster family (Pflegefamilie) and they don't have a lot of support at home.
INDIVIDUAL LONG TURN (4-5 Minutes)
In your monologue you should:
* describe what a healthy lifestyle consists of
* analyse the benefits of daily exercise for general health
* suggest bad habits that young people should avoid in order to live a long, healthy life
INTERACTION (5-6 minutes)
After your presentation, one of the grandparents comes up to you and wants to know more about the topic.
In your dialogue you should:
* find out more about the foods her grandchild eats

1) Look over your notes/textbook about human rights, social media, Ocean Cleanup and any other topics we've discussed THIS semester. You could see vocabulary, grammar, phrases on the quiz (Sprachverwendung)
2) Prepare remarks to do a social media monologue.
3) Use the following Aufgabenstellung to work up a monologue for Human Rights
You are spending a year as an exchange student in Australia. In class you are doing a presentation on human rights.
Individual Long Turn (4-5 minutes)
In your presentation you should
- outline facts about the Declaration of Human Rights and its basic ideas
- interpret the pictures in connection with the topic
- exemplify violations of human rights throughout history
- illustrate the situation of minorities in our world
Interaction (5-6 minutes)
After the presentation your English form teacher discusses the issue of immigrations and refugees. Be prepared
- to find out more about the history of immigration in Australia
- illustrate the prejudices and discrimination against immigrants in everyday life
- refer to the issue of refugees in Europe
- state your opinion about the situation of refugees and asylum seekers
- suggest measures to improve their situation
