3C - "Homework" for Thursday, October 23
Our lines of communication have been interrupted by Sport Week! To get back on track, look through Focus on Modern Technology 2, Chapter 5 (Communication), pp. 58-67 so you know what's coming. Look at the vocabulary on page 68 and write any words you don't know into your Vokabelheft. Look at the grammar review on pp. 66-67. We will polish off this chapter by November 6, after which we will begin Referate!

Let's try something new!
I. Watch this video and answer the questions:
1) What product does the commercial advertise?
2) Is it an effective commercial? Why or why not?
3) Is it a good commercial for the product? Why or why not?
4) What is the purpose of this commercial?
5) In what way does the commercial use interactive advertising?
II. On the internet, find another example of INTERACTIVE ADVERTISING (in English, please!). It could be an old school example (like a billboard) or a digital example. Post a link to the source (picture, video, website, etc) IN THE COMMENT SECTION of this blog entry (don't worry if it doesn't show up immediately - comments are restricted). Consider the same questions for your advertisement/commercial as above, and be able to talk about your selection in the lesson.

Wednesday Recipe - The Best Cocoa Brownies
This is the recipe I followed for classes on Tuesday, October 7 and Friday, October 10. Don't worry too much about 'fine grained sea salt' - any table salt will do. Instead of vanilla extract, you will use about 1/4 package of vanilla sugar. Enjoy!

For Monday, October 6, you will need the textbook, Focus on Modern Technology 4/5, pp. 8-9.
B) TASK 1, Exercise 1 - This is like a Matura task. You have to put the headings into the appropriate box in the text.
Step 1 - Look up any vocabulary words you don't know in the headings (purple box, page 8) first, and put them in your vocabulary book.
Step 2 - Then read through the article, Better, Bolder and Brighter: New Developments in Signage (pp. 8-9). Look up words you don't know and put them in your vocabulary book.
Step 3 - Put the headings into the the appropriate box in the text.
TASK 2, Exercise 3 - Write out the sentences on a separate piece of lined paper to hand in on Monday, October 6.
Step 1 - Look up any vocabulary you don't know in the purple box on page 9 and put them in your vocabulary book (many words will already be there from Task 1!).
Step 2 - Determine which word completes each sentence.
Step 3 - Write out full sentences (1-7) on a separate piece of lined paper to hand in. For the remaining four words, make up your own sentences and add them to the paper you will hand in.
